What is Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)?

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is a threatening condition in which there is inadequate blood flow of oxygen to a patient’s legs due to clogged, narrowed, or blocked arteries. Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) is the advanced stage of Peripheral Arterial Disease, which can often lead to tissue loss and eventually amputation if left untreated.

Dr. Julio Sanguily III is a national pioneer in this field and has developed advanced techniques to deliver highly effective therapy in a minimally invasive manner. Dr. Sanguily has performed thousands of peripheral angiograms over his 25+ years of practicing vascular medicine, allowing him to become an expert in the treatment of PAD and CLI cases.

Performed by Dr. Julio Sanguily III, MD, a leading vascular surgeon.

The advancements of medical technology in the last 10 years has allowed advanced physicians to safely and effectively enter the small arteries in the ankle and foot, which were once considered impossible to treat.

Mastering these advanced techniques has prevented the loss of a foot or limb on countless of Dr. Julio Sanguily’s patients over the years, and he feels very strongly that all patients should undergo a second opinion from a vascular specialist that focuses in the advanced form of peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia (CLI) before considering amputation.

Dr. Sanguily opened Palm Vascular Centers of the Treasure Coast with the intent of serving those in the community affected by peripheral vascular disease (PVD), a life-threatening illness that compromises the quality of life for millions of people in the United States.
